For example the lyrics line "We live like particles of sand floating in the light of the infinite wave" made me pull out an old stock of analog photos, which I shot in the West Sahara back in 2008. To make the transitions and gradients of the photos I used old stock (1960s) paper from an architect`s office. These papers had different reports of structures and gradients, imitating different materials or transitions from dark to light. The icon logo was an idea Kevin came up with, where I used these types of structures and paint to realize his vision. The type logo was something we came up with, swapping ideas of retro futuristic 70s and 80s visions. We aimed for "new and fresh", but with that bit of old school "future look"feel.
Sandwave was a musical endeavor of MikaFineo and KevinHastings, two accomplished musicians, who formally been with artist/bands such as Filter, Rihanna, LadyGaga, Tom Morello, Snoop Dog, ...and the list goes on and on. Their concept was simple > How to take EDM out on the road in a simple yet effective package, while being very interactive with the crowd, just like a live band. Live performed EMD with live drums, interacting with the crowd!
